Day 10 in Lausanne

Day 10

We started the day with a discussion at the hotel. First, we talked about sports, disciplines and the events in the Olympics. Then we worked on our research paper. I worked on finding good resources. Also, we have to finish our outlines by this Saturday, therefore I made some adjustments on the outline.

Next, it was time for deciding between hiking and visiting castle Chillon. In the end, we decided to go hiking at a place called Les Avants. We went to Les Avants via using trains. I took nearly 1 hour to get there. While waiting for our train we had time to eat lunch. Therefore, we ate at an Italian restaurant named Vapiano. I tried the first thing I saw on the menu. It was delicious. After lunch, we met with Professor Kim at the entrance of the train station. As I have mentioned above, the train took about an hour. We had the opportunity to travel with wonderful scenes, Geneva lake on the right side, and vineyards on the left.

Later, in order to start our hiking, we used a lift(Standseilbahn) to get even higher. Afterward, we started our hiking adventure. Luckily the weather was perfect for hiking. In the beginning, it was easy. However, after a while, it started to get very steep. I actually liked it because it was kind of a workout for me. During hiking, we saw some people with cute dogs, and this led to showing our dogs photos. Then we arrived at the photo point, and we took a group photo. Before finishing the hike we saw the famous flower of Montreux, Narcissi. Next, it was time for getting back.

On the way back we stopped at Montreux before coming to Lausanne. First, we spent some time on the rocks at the bay, to rest a little bit. After,  we visited the studio of a famous rock band called Queen. After spending some time at the studio, we still had 30 minutes for our next train to Lausanne. Therefore, we walked slowly towards the station, enjoying the weather. When we got back, we had a dinner reservation at a Swiss restaurant near the Cathedral of Lausanne. At dinner, most of us tried the famous cheese fondue. After dinner, we went back to the hotel.
